Some Cold Rock Stuf

Magnus — 19 June, 2009

A little cut from J. ‘bestDJ/turntablistintheworld’ Roccs upcoming album. Mostly guessing at this moment, but it’s being released through Stones Throw and will be out of this world dope. J. Rocc actually played this when he was in the UK recently and ripped the shit out of every London area radio along with Benji B for BBC 1Xtra. You can stream the show/read more here.

The album is still a working title, on the show he calls this beat ‘Malcolm was here pt. 2′, however serious that was. Anticipated nonetheless.

Love Is Real

Magnus — 15 June, 2009

Afta-1 & Gas’D brings you ‘Love Is Real Vol. 3′ July 1st.

I will not pretend like I really know what this is. But I’ve been listening to Afta-1 for quite some time and I love it, this video is beautiful + it seems like there’s a dope album dropping July 1st. So let’s talk about it then.

Come to think of it, the woman is singing in Danish (I’m pretty sure) and I can understand it. How savvy.

Body Language

Magnus — 15 June, 2009

Photo from D/Will on MySpace.

While the vast majority of HipHop producers these days settle for boring high-hats and 8-bit videogame samples, D/Will is one of the few maintaining the soul of real HipHop with organic percussion and soul samples. Rapping on this is Stik Figa, both him and D are from Kansas City, Missouri. D/Wills debut-album, ‘Battery Effect’, will drop June 23rd through 2dopeboyz, sans this joint though.

Shouts to Jane once again.

Monster Babies

Random Axe, if you don’t know, is the new super rapgroup. Only that term is usually used for a bunch of wack rappers making one song and then decide not to make anything ever again. But not them. Guilty Simpson, Sean Price & Black Milk.
This is the first leak off their project. Heads up came on twitter, from Black Milk earlier today. No release date announced yet, so we can only guess and hope that it’s coming soon.

Beat Konducta x The Ecstatic

Lord Inamel at it again. Dropping bombs. This is Mos Def, over Madlib from Beat Konducta 3&4 and Slick Rick is on it. Yes, Slick Rick.
I’ma act like you don’t know. ‘The Ecstatic’ is dropping June 9th, Mos Def’s fourth album and everyone + myself is anticipating it.
The beginning of the beat is ‘Get It Right’, though the main beat itself is ‘Movie Finale’, both from the timeless ‘Beat Konducta Vol. 3-4: Beat Konducta In India’. Weird.

Edit:
Ok so actually, two songs from ‘The Ecstatic’ dropped today, but I was too busy doing nerd shit on the internet so I forgot to check the world. ‘History’, a beat mentioned earlier today by Stones Throw as an unreleased Dilla beat known as ‘History’. Oh, and Talib Kweli is on it. Black Star shining.

A good day for hiphop on the internet.
